Who is RDG?
I am a full time Physical Therapist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and avid golfer. Upon graduating school and getting my first “real” job, I finally had the time and money to play golf again which I hadn’t played since middle school. After spending 8 years learning every detail about how the human body moves and works, I was determined to fully understand the golf swing. I spent the next 10 years and thousands of hours reading books, magazines, articles, biomechanics papers, and everything I could possibly find on the golf swing. Once I settled on a swing theory that I thought would be best for my body and movement patterns, I still couldn’t stop reading about golf, this time more focused on how to optimize performance.
With 2 children under the age of 5 and a goal to become a scratch golfer, I have leaned on research to help me become more efficient in my performance. I utilize all the tips from this site in my own game and have seen quite remarkable results. This site is really a chronicle of my quest to improve my own game and wanted to share this information to help others as well.
I don’t believe the letters after my name or credentials I’ve earned make me an expert in anything, certainly not golf. I believe they put me in a position where I can understand what the real experts are saying and can hopefully translate their research into easily digestible terms for all golfers. The goal of this website is to make all golfers better, myself included.
